Rural Housing Study

In 2013 we worked with the Prince’s Foundation on options for new affordable rural housing to support a ‘BIMBY’ Campaign – ‘Beauty in My Backyard’.

Our masterplanning study has looked at different character areas in a hypothetical village, and identified three typical sites which might be suitable for development. These are:

  1. a small infill plot on the main village street
  2. a former industrialised farmyard site
  3. an edge of village greenfield site adjacent the primary school, which might potentially accommodate housing and business units, a new village hall, car parking for the school and hall, and additional recreation space.
