Oxburgh Hall, Norfolk

This is one of three masterplanning projects we have carried out for the National Trust. As with most of our projects our work was underpinned by historic research and a sensitivity to the place. We identified the potential for improved visitor flows, better use of space across the site and within existing buildings, and identified a good location for a new visitor reception building, shop and cafe on an underused piece of land which has previously been developed in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Improvements to car parking and access were also proposed. The outline proposals received very positive feedback from Historic England and the local authority’s Conservation Officer and have informed long-term planning for development at Oxburgh.
